Can ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity read your website?

An AI engine can only recommend what it can read. This checks your robots.txt against the crawlers OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, and Microsoft use for AI answers and training, and looks for an llms.txt.

We read two public files at your site's root — robots.txt and llms.txt — and nothing else. Results aren't stored.

How to read the result

  • Search crawlers matter most. Blocking one keeps your pages out of that engine's answers — the ones that can cite and recommend you.
  • Training crawlers are a separate choice. Blocking one opts your content out of training future models; it doesn't decide what today's answers say.
  • User fetchers act for a person. They visit a page when someone asks about it, and some vendors say robots.txt may not apply to them.
  • We check your home page path against each crawler's rules, the way RFC 9309 defines them.
  • Crawler names change. Each vendor's own page, linked in the results, is the source of truth.

Being readable is step one. PromptPulse measures whether AI engines actually recommend you — and shows the exact sources to fix when they recommend a competitor.
